On Saturday, 4th May, 2024, ululating, singing and dancing punctuated the Golden Jubilee celebration of St. Luke’s Mishikishi Mission of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola located in Masaiti District along Kabwe road.
Scores of people including the lay faithful from 48 Outstations under Mishikishi Mission joined, several Priests and the Religious in the celebration that started with Holy Mass at 10:00 hours.
Catholic Diocese of Ndola Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, who was standing in for the, Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, led the Eucharistic Celebration and issuance of certificates to deserving married couples who have lived 50 years and above in Holy Matrimony.
In his homily, Fr. Mutachila paid glowing tribute to the pioneers of the Mission that include the clergy and lay faithful while underscoring Faith as the gist of the 50th Anniversary Feast.
After mass 12 selected married couples with 50 years and above in their Holy Matrimony received certificates of recognition as a way of promoting family life. In his remarks, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Tresphor Mutale expressed his joy on the great occasion of celebrating Mishikishi Misson’s Golden Jubilee.
Civic leaders, traditional leaders (represented) and representatives of other Christian denominations attended the celebration that was concluded with a meal.
