On the 14th October 2021, Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri – Bishop of Ndola officiated the ground breaking ceremony of the contraction of a new church building at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Bwana Mkubwa. Parish Priest – Rev. Fr. Kim Hank of St. Matthias and Assistant Parish Priest -Rev. Fr. Kabamba Mwansa welcomed the Bishop and his delegation which included the Vicar General- Rev. Fr. Christopher Chowa, Director Pastoral- Rev. Fr. Mathews Mumba, The Dean of Bwana Mkubwa Deanery – Rev. Fr. Raphael Chanda and Vocations Director- Rev. Fr. Shula Muleba. The ceremony began with the blessing of the foundation stone and the four pillars of the building, brief speeches by the Parish Chairperson, the Rev. Fr. Kim Hank and finally by Bishop Dr. Phiri. After the speeches, Bishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri then unveiled the poster of the church plan. The day end with a blessing from his Lordship Bishop Phiri. Below are a few highlights.
