ST. MARY’S MISSION AT 75 YEARS- DAY1

St. Mary’s Mission in Lufwanyama recently hosted a vibrant two-day celebration for its Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of faith and service. The event began on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with Mass led by Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, the Vicar General of Ndola Archdiocese. He represented Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, who was unable to attend due to prior commitments. Very Rev. Fr. Mutachila received a warm welcome from the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Augustine Mwansa Mumba, and Assistant Priests, Rev. Fr. Charles Jjumba and Rev. Fr. Wisdom Musonda. During the mass, the Vicar General commission 14 communion helpers. Following the Mass, a council meeting was held with the parish executive and other leaders, reflecting on the mission’s history and discussing plans for continued growth. After the meeting, participants enjoyed a communal lunch before the afternoon’s festivities commenced. The celebrations included traditional singing, dancing, and other joyous performances, bringing together parishioners and guests in a spirit of unity.
