Today, 10th September 2022, the Bishop of Ndola Diocese- Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD ordained 12 candidates to the priesthood in a colourful ceremony that was held at St. Anthony of Padua Parish. The 12 Candidates consisted of 11 Franciscan Friars and 1 Neo-catechumen (Lwendo) namely; Fr. Joshua Mumba, Fr. Emmanuel Kanduwa, Fr. Marshal Hamukombo, Fr. Angel Chanda, Fr. Derby Kamanga, Fr. Raymond Mpundu, Fr. Ernest Mukuka, Fr. Gabriel Chilekwa, Fr. Pethias Kafula, Fr. Patrick Mulenga, Fr. Davies Lunda and Fr. Belay Laba respectively . In his homily, Rt. Rev. Dr. Phiri spoke to the candidates about the gravity of the decision they have made. He encouraged them to guard their priesthood and to always be prayerful or else they will fail in their ministry. Notably in attendance was the Republican President of Zambia, His Excellency- Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and other government officials . Below are a few highlights.
