Officially handed over St. Thomas Secondary school.
The 7th of August 2021, was a joyful day for the residents of Maposa as His Excellency President Edgar Lungu officially handed over the newly Built St. Thomas Secondary school to the Catholic Diocese of Ndola. The school that is situated in Maposa began as an initiative of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola for Community development. The church later called upon government to help build the school, which would benefit a lot of children who have to travel 15km to the nearest schools. True to their promise the government of the Republic of Zambia has built a beautiful school, with 4 teachers houses, that is well equipped for quality education and today has handed it back over to the Catholic Diocese of Ndola, as it will be run as a Catholic School. The school is a co-education day school and the first grade 8 class is expected to open in January 2022. Representing the Ndola Diocese was Acting Vicar General – Rev. Fr. Francis Mukosa, Treasure General- Rev. Fr. Charles Tembo, Director Pastoral- Rev. Fr. Mathews Mumba, and Education Secretary – Mrs Scholastica Saidi. Below are a few highlights of the colourful event.
