Mass for Military at Cathedral of Christ the King.
Today, 30th April 2022, Bishop of Ndola Diocese- Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD officially welcomed and introduced Captain Fr. Bartholomew Mukuka as army chaplain on the Copperbelt. The event began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The Readings were taken By Warrant Officer Class two Naloonda PJ from 1 commando Unit Ingwe Barracks. Bishop Benjamin Phiri then gave his homily in which, he encouraged all military personal to honor the uniforms they wear and to be exemplary. After the Homily Captain Fr. Mukuka was installed as Chaplain and given authority to perform rites in the Catholic Diocese of Ndola. At the end of the Mass a special luncheon at the Pastoral Offices Conference Hall was held. In attendance was Colonel Muke- Deputy Director General religious and Moral Services Branch, Army Commandant in the school of artillery based at Kalewa Barracks in Ndola – Col. Augustine Kalenga and notably two Priests who are also Captains in the armed Forces travelled to Ndola to support their colleague namely: Captain Rev. Fr. Chewe Samson originally from kasama Archdiocese posted to 4ZR- Chipata and Captain Rev. Fr. Phillip Phiri from Mongu Diocese, currently serving in Kabwe Diocese in Chindwin Barracks.
