Launching of the UK AID Match Grant Project.

The Catholic Diocese of Ndola  launched a project titled: Building Community Resilience to Climatic Shocks , through Improving Food Security , Caring Practices for Vulnerable Groups, and Sanitation and Hygiene Practices to Enhance the Nutritional Status of Rural Communities.

This project will be funded by the United Kingdom Aid Match Grant with support from the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development(CAFOD) and it will run for three(3) years from 1 October 2018 to 30th September 20121.

Launching of the project took place at the Pastoral Offices in Ndola on Thursday 1 November, 2018.

The project will be implemented in 5 districts of the Copperbelt Province namely Mpongwe, Masaiti, Chingola, Chililabombwe and Kitwe. As explained by Miss Mwila Mulumbi, the CAFOD Country Representative in Zambia during the launch, the programme will seek to improve the nutritional status of key vulnerable groups that have additional nutrition requirement and barriers in accessing them.

Present at the launch were government representatives; The Provincial Minister  was represented by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, also present was His Worship the Mayor Mr. Amon Chisenga, Catholic Diocese of Ndola Senior Management represented by Fr. Charles Tembo the Procurator General. The Archbishop was represented by  Fr. Mumba the Pastoral Director.
