Holy Childhood Animators attended a two day workshop (14th-15th September 2018), held at the Catholic Center in Kitwe.  The Workshop was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Mwansa Mumba [Augustine] – PMS Director. The participants included representative from each of the 10 Deaneries of Ndola Diocese( except for 3 Deaneries) and the Holy Childhood Diocesan Executive.

Rev. Fr. Mwansa officially opened the workshop,and welcomed everyone present. He wasted no time in citing the challenges the children are facing in this modern generation where any  information is readily available to them. He mentioned the threat of Islam on their Catholic Faith and as animators the  challenge of guiding  and building up the Catholic Faith in these children. He then gave a talk on ”True Discipleship” emphasizing on learning to follow Christ as animators before leading the children to Christ.  He later gave a  second talk on leadership, in which he talked at length on the different aspects of leadership and the common misconceptions that people have. He concluded his talk with these words ”….let love lead your Leadership”. The day ended with Night Prayers and a blessing from Rev. Fr. Mwansa.

The second day was a program filled day, that was kicked off with Morning Prayers.

The participants where then divided into groups, in which they where given questions to discuss and answer.  The groups later convened and a representative for each group presented their answers. This ignited a lot of questions amougest participants that led to more discussions.

After a break, the workshop continued with presentations of reports from various deaneries. The Participants  were given a chance  to share their achievements , Challenges, Financial status and other concerns from their Deanery. Later on planning for the year 2019 began, all  Participants participated enthusiastically as they gave their ideas, suggestion , desires  and recommendations for the coming year 2019. This session brought a lot of good ideas to light.

The workshop successfully ended, with Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr.  Mwansa Mumba [Augustine]. He  reminded the Animators to emulate Mother Mary ,who had a heart of love, to always love the children they serve.  Final Blessing was given and participants joyfully  and return to their various Deaneries.
