Day for the Consecrated Religious Men and Women.
Mass for Consecrated Religious Held at St. Francis and Clare Parish, Mufulira On February 8, 2025, St. Francis and Clare Parish in Mufulira hosted a special Mass for consecrated religious men and women. The Mass, celebrated by the Archbishop of Ndola Diocese, Dr. Benjamin Phiri, brought together various religious congregations in a spirit of unity and fellowship. The celebration coincided with the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. It began with a solemn rite in which candles were blessed and lit as the consecrated processed into the church, symbolizing their call to be the light of Christ in the world. During his homily, Archbishop Phiri urged all religious congregations to remain united rather than compete against each other. He emphasized that strength lies in numbers and that together, they can achieve much more. He called on them to be true pilgrims of hope and bearers of light in a dark world. He reminded them that while the world looks to them for hope and love, these virtues must first be nurtured within their own communities through mutual respect and care. After the Mass, the consecrated were treated to a sumptuous meal, fostering a sense of fraternity and joy among them.
