Cassock investiture Mass at St. Benedict Diocesan Seminary.
Today, 19th May 2021, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD, travelled to St. Benedict Diocesan seminary in Kasaria, Mufulira. The Seminary which is currently run by Ndola Diocese in partnership with the Franciscan Missionary service and the Archdiocese of Lusaka has 12 seminarians from Ndola diocese, 7 from the Archdiocese of Lusaka and 3 from the Franciscan Missionary service. Bishop Dr. Phiri celebrated mass during which 19 young men were vested with the cassock. Vocations Director-Rev. Fr. Raphael Banda and Rev. Fr. Kim were part of this colourful celebration representing the Archdiocese of Lusaka and the Franciscan Missionary service respectively. Among the invited guest were the Clergy from the curia offices, Mufulira deanery and the Catholic Women’s Organisation (CWO) Diocesan Executive who are the benefactors of the Seminarian Fund. After Mass the Bishop and all invited Guests were given a tour of the seminary which is under construction by Rector- Rev. Fr. Brian Mutale. The seminary will include a library, computer room, laundry room, up to 60 boarding rooms, multi-purpose hall, and prayer rooms. Below are a few Highlights.
