CASSOCK INVESTITURE
In a ceremony imbued with solemnity and tradition, St. Benedict Major Seminary in Kasaria, Mufulira, recently witnessed the investiture of 9 seminarians into the revered cassock. Held on April 13, 2024, this significant event not only marked a milestone in the spiritual journey of these young men but also showcased the enduring commitment of the Church to nurturing its future leaders. Presiding over the mass was the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, who graciously stood in for Bishop of Ndola Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD. His presence added a sense of honor and significance to the occasion, symbolizing the wider support and guidance extended by the Church hierarchy to the seminarians. Welcoming the assembly and the Vicar General was the Rector of St. Benedict Major Seminary, the Reverend Fr. Brian Mutale. His leadership and pastoral care have played a pivotal role in shaping the seminary’s ethos and nurturing the vocations of its students The investiture ceremony served as a reminder of the importance of formation and education in preparing future priests. As the seminarians were vested with the cassock, the significance of the moment was palpable.
