On 7th May 2018 a new group of students started the first of the three units of the Basic Bible Course (Extra-Biblical Introductions) at Mount Olivet Biblical Centre in Mufulira. A total of 34 people from nine deaneries attended the course. Unfortunately Kitwe Deanery had no representatives.
Among the participants there were fourteen youths (even more if we count some senior youths / young adults. The Diocesan Biblical Commission Chairperson and Secretary were also present. This program was proudly sponsored by the CMO Pastoral Fund.
The group was very responsive to the sessions facilitated by Fr. Giuseppe Saieva (Divine Revelation, Inspiration, Canonicity and Biblical Interpretation) and by Fr. Angelo Paleri, OFM Conv (Geography of the Holy Land and Biblical History). The four-day programme was concluded with a visit to Sts. Francis and Clare Parish in Ndeke Township.
The participants look forward to the second unit of the course, which will take place from 4th – 8th September.
