Easter Sunday Mass

Easter Sunday Mass

St. Anthony of Padua Parish reverberated with joy and reverence as Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, the Bishop of Ndola, presided over the Easter Sunday Mass. Welcomed warmly by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Mathews Kasongo and Director of Mission Press Rev. Fr. Joseph Mukuka, Bishop Phiri led the faithful in celebrating the pinnacle of the Christian faith—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. During the Mass, the congregation renewed their baptismal promises, recommitting themselves to living as disciples of Christ in their daily lives. In his impassioned homily, Bishop Phiri urged the faithful to embody the risen Lord not only within the confines of the church but also in their interactions with the world. He emphasized the profound significance of Easter—a time for true conversion of heart and a deeper commitment to walking with God. Bishop Phiri reminded the congregation of the immense price of redemption and cautioned against complacency. He emphasized that genuine Easter celebration transcends mere festivities, calling for a life of authenticity and faithfulness. Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, candidates baptized during the Easter Vigil Mass received the Holy Communion from Bishop Phiri, symbolizing their union with the body of Christ. As the Easter Sunday Mass concluded, the parishioners left inspired to live as Easter people, radiating the light of Christ’s resurrection in their communities. May this celebration serve as a catalyst for renewed faith and steadfast devotion to the risen Lord.
