Roll-out of the 2024-2028 strategic plan and Safeguarding policy.
Ndola Diocese today, 8th February 2024, conducted a comprehensive roll-out of its 2024-2028 strategic plan and safeguarding policy documents to its Curia staff. The purpose of this initiative was to ensure that all staff members are well-informed and guided by the principles outlined in these two important documents.
Led by the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, the roll-out session provided a detailed overview of the vision, mission, thematic focus areas, strategies, resource mobilization, and budgets outlined in the strategic plan. This plan serves as a roadmap for the Diocese’s activities and priorities over the next five years.
Additionally, the safeguarding policy document was thoroughly covered during the session. Facilitated by Fr. Bernard Kapembwa, Director of Social Projects and Programmes, and Mr. Grensio Tembo, Diocesan Human Resource Manager, the safeguarding policy addresses critical issues such as harassment, bullying, sexual misconduct, exploitation, confidentiality, whistle-blower protection policy, and internal escalation procedures.
By disseminating these documents and providing comprehensive training, the Ndola Diocese aims to ensure that all its stakeholders and collaborators are equipped to work within the prescribed parameters and uphold the values and standards set forth in the strategic plan and safeguarding policy.
This proactive approach underscores the Diocese’s commitment to its vision of ‘’a self- sustaining church anchored on the word of God, and united through the cross where all find a home.’’
It is in this vein, that the roll out of these documents is not limited to the curia staff alone but will be rolled out in all 10 deaneries across the diocese in the course of the next four months.
Below are a few highlights.
