LAUNCH OF THE JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE.

LAUNCH OF THE JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE.

On, 11th January 2025, the Archdiocese of Ndola commenced its Jubilee Year of Hope with a solemn celebration that highlighted the themes of hope, forgiveness and reconciliation. The event, presided over by Archbishop Benjamin Phiri, began with the ceremonial opening of the Holy Door at Christ the King Cathedral in Ndola. This significant rite symbolizes the passage into a year filled with spiritual renewal, forgiveness, and transformation. Walking through the Holy Door, blessed by the Archbishop, represents an invitation for all believers to embrace God’s grace, leaving behind past burdens and embracing new beginnings. During the Eucharistic celebration, the Archbishop led a congregation comprising priests, religious leaders, and lay faithful in reflecting on the Jubilee’s purpose. He emphasized the need for reconciliation and the cultivation of meaningful relationships, urging participants to let go of long-held grudges and strive for unity. The Jubilee Year of Hope, he explained, is an opportunity to renew hearts and restore connections with God and one another. The Archdiocese plans to extend the celebrations to deaneries and parishes, encouraging widespread participation. This initiative aligns with Pope Francis’ declaration of the global 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, which began on December 24, 2024, and will conclude on January 6, 2026. As the faithful embark on this spiritual journey, the Jubilee serves as a reminder to approach life with genuine goodwill, fostering a renewed commitment to peace, love, and hope.
