Thanksgiving mass

Thanksgiving Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King On December 31, 2024, Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Ndola. The occasion served as a time for the faithful to reflect on the year, repent, and express gratitude to God for His mercy and blessings. During his homily, Archbishop Phiri highlighted the importance of starting thanksgiving with repentance. He reminded the congregation to seek God’s mercy for the wrongs committed throughout the year. Despite human failings, he noted that God’s grace has allowed His people to live and experience His blessings rather than the consequences they deserve. The Archbishop addressed the need for change, encouraging individuals to abandon sinful behaviors and commit to a better path in the coming year. He stressed the importance of relying on God for guidance and drawing closer to Mother Mary for spiritual strength and intercession. As the year drew to a close, he urged Christians to become living examples of Christ in their daily lives, reflecting His presence in their homes, workplaces, and communities. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of God’s enduring mercy and the need for faithful renewal as the New Year begins.
