Mass for the Consecrated Men and women.

On this special day, the Catholic Church observed the Day of the Consecrated, a significant occasion that coincides with the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus. Despite being celebrated a day later due to pastoral reasons, the reverence and dedication of the event remained undiminished.
The Mass, held in the diocese of Ndola, was presided over by the revered Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD, accompanied by the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, and Minister Provincial of the Franciscan Friars for Zambia and Malawi, Fr. Ferena Lambe, as co-celebrants.
In his homily, Bishop Phiri imparted the profound words of Pope Francis to the consecrated men and women, urging them to emulate the valor and fervor with which they embarked on their sacred journey. He emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in the face of the challenges inherent in consecrated life.
The Mass commenced with a stirring procession, symbolizing the presentation of Jesus, with the tender figure of the baby Jesus carried into the church and placed upon the altar. Following behind, the consecrated members held aloft candles, illuminating their path with faith and devotion.
As the Mass drew to a close, a symbolic gesture unfolded as each consecrated member placed their candle upon the altar, signifying their enduring commitment to the vows they have solemnly undertaken.
Today’s celebration served as a reminder of the unwavering dedication and selfless service exemplified by the consecrated members of the Catholic Church, inspiring all to renew their commitment to a life of faith and service.
